BBR Music Group Adds Elvie Shane To Roster

BBR Music Group has signed Kentucky native Elvie Shane, whose song and video for “My Boy,” a song he wrote for his stepson, gained traction in 2018. Music fans may also know Shane from his stint on American Idol in 2016.

Shane is booked by United Talent Agency and is signed to Nashville-based Rome Phrey Publishing.

 
Members Of dcTalk, Petra, Whiteheart, Jars of Clay Form New Supergroup

Kevin Max (dcTalk), John Schlitt (Petra), Billy Smiley (Whiteheart) and Dan Haseltine (Jars of Clay) have united to collectively perform their biggest hits as the CCM All Star Review. The new group will debut with a headlining performance at the No Greater Love Festival in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on Aug. 11.

With sales exceeding 30 million records between them, the members have collectively generated more than 45 No. 1 songs and earned more than 15 Grammy and 60 Dove Award wins and nominations.

The supergroup will be backed by the Union of Sinners and Saints, the Schlitt and Smiley-fronted group that recently released their own self-titled debut album.

 

Rounder Records Signs The War And Treaty

Rounder Records has signed duo The War and Treaty, with their first project for the label set to release next year.

The duo, comprised of Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Blount-Trotter, formed in 2014. Their rootsy soul brand of music and gospel-steeped harmonies have made them local favorites in the Nashville music scene and beyond. Earlier this month, they earned two nominations at the Americana Music Association’s Honors & Awards, including Duo/Group of the Year and Emerging Act of the Year.

 

SNG Music Signs Oran Thornton

Multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter Oran Thornton has signed an exclusive worldwide publishing deal with SNG Music. Thornton joins a roster that includes Carson Chamberlain, Marty Dodson, Mark Nesler, Wyatt McCubbin, Gary Reamey, Zarni de Vette and Lee Starr.

Raised in the small town of Stockton, Missouri, Thornton made the transition to Nashville in 2009 after spending his teen years performing and touring across the U.S. and Europe with Grammy-winning Christian hip-hop/pop rock trio, DC Talk. Later, Thornton formed Flick with his younger brother before shifting focus on his new found passion for engineering, producing and songwriting. He has also worked on projects for Miranda Lambert, David Nail, Little Big Town, Eric Church and Angaleena Presley; and has contributed his engineering, producing and guitar talents to projects including the Eli Young Band, Stoney LaRue, Adam Hood, Brent Cobb and Logan Brill.

 

Three Hounds Music Expands Roster

Three Hounds Music has entered into an exclusive publishing agreement with singer/songwriter Max Flinn. Flinn, a Houston native, recently released a single “Anywhere But Austin” and is on a radio promotion tour throughout Texas.

The Three Hounds roster also includes Bobby Terry, David Tolliver and Sarah Beth Terry. The company, formed by Houston-based publisher and musician Tom Harrison, has offices in Houston and Nashville.

Emma White Launches Whitehouse Records

Nashville artist Emma White has launched Whitehouse Records, a co-venture with fellow Nashville entrepreneur Jennifer Coyle. The label’s first release is White’s single “Ten Year Town” (not to be confused with songwriter Hailey Whitters’ recent single by the same name).

Whitehouse Records aims to meet the need for greater female talent development in Nashville’s music industry. A majority woman-owned business, the company also offers publishing, touring and management services.
