Josh Osborne Signs With Sony/ATV Nashville
Hit songwriter Josh Osborne has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Sony/ATV Nashville.
“Seldom does a publisher get the opportunity to acquire such a hit-driven catalog and futures deal with a songwriter of Josh’s stature,” said Troy Tomlinson, Sony/ATV Nashville President/CEO. “An added bonus is that Josh will maintain the successful relationship that he has had for years with his partners at SMACKSongs. Matthew Ramsey Signs With Warner/Chappell Music Nashville
Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with Warner/Chappell Music.
Ramsey has penned nine No 1. hits for both Old Dominion and other artists, including Kenny Chesney (“Save It for a Rainy Day”), Sam Hunt (“Make You Miss Me”), Dierks Bentley (“Say You Do”), Luke Bryan (“Goodbye Girl”), and Tim McGraw (“Kiss A Girl”), among others.
Ramsey is currently on the road with Old Dominion for their Happy Endings World Tour. Happy Endings, the band’s sophomore album, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart and produced three No. 1s co-written by Ramsey, “Written in the Sand,” “No Such Thing as a Broken Heart,” and “Hotel Key.” The two-time CMA Triple Play Award winner was also named last year’s ASCAP Artist-Songwriter of the Year, and in 2018, he won the Association of Independent Music Publishers Artists Writers of the Year award. As a part of Old Dominion, he also won the Academy of Country Music Award for New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year, the American Country Countdown Award for Breakthrough Group/Duo of the Year and the 2018 ACM Award for Vocal Group of the Year.
Ramsey was represented by Morris Higham Management and Jess Rosen of Greenberg/Traurig in this deal.
Jared Mullins Inks Publishing Deal With Tree Vibez Music
Jared Mullins has signed a publishing deal with Tree Vibez Music.
The Baltimore native has scored cuts by Jake Owen, Granger Smith, Justin Moore, Chase Rice, Cassadee Pope, Parmalee, and Cale Dodds already plus Kane Brown’s Gold-certified “Found You,” which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales chart in 2017.
Mullins joins a roster of TVM writers that already includes Corey Crowder, Jordan Schmidt, James McNair, RaeLynn, Canaan Smith, Daniel Ross and Ernest K. Smith.
King Calaway Signs With BMG/BBR Music Group
BMG/BBR Music Group has signed the band King Calaway to its roster. The group’s self-titled debut EP will be released Jan. 25 via BBR’s Stoney Creek Records imprint.
Members Caleb Miller, Chris Deaton, Simon Dumas, Jordan Harvey, Chad Michael Jervis, and Austin Luther each made their own way to Nashville chasing their dreams from across the globe, hailing from towns in the American Midwest and the Atlantic seaboard to the small coastal country of Gibraltar and the Central Belt of Scotland. They came together as King Calaway in early 2018, and offer a fresh new take on country with a sound reminiscent of the Eagles. The band is guided by a co-production team that includes Robert Deaton and Ross Copperman.
Already firmly laying roots in Nashville, King Calaway will make its debut on the Grand Ole Opry stage on March 1. The band is booked by United Talent Agency and managed by 24 Entertainment.
Music City Management Adds Centricity Music’s Jason Gray To Roster
Nashville-based Music City Management has added Centricity Music recording artist and songwriter Jason Gray to its artist roster. Gray has earned two No. 1 hits, including “Nothing Is Wasted,” which held the No. 1 spot at radio for nine weeks, as well as “With Every Act of Love,” which hit Top 10 on the Christian Airplay Chart, in addition to five Top 5 singles.
Opening its doors in 2012, Music City Management also represents Marc Martel, whose voice was most recently featured in 2018’s 20th Century Fox Queen biographical film, Bohemian Rhapsody, which just won a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture-Drama.
Gray was heard this past holiday season on Martel’s version of “O Come All Ye Faithful,” which was the highest-charting new Christmas radio single release, reaching No. 8 on the Billboard National Airplay chart for their last chart of 2018. Gray also headlined his annual Christmas tour, “Christmas Is Coming,” and was joined by Curb | Word artist Stars Go Dim.
