I just wanted to say congratulations to Jimmy and all that he has accomplished. I actually took some lessons from him back in ’88 (give or take a year) when he worked at the local music store and I bought my first guitar from him. He was only 18 (maybe 19) then and he had already played The Grand Ole Opry. I was 11 and not much of a country fan, but understood what an achievement that was. Then during one of my lessons he tore off a Judas Priest song and I’ve had respect for him ever since. Anyhow, I’m glad to see that he has found success in something he has such a passion for. Good Work and Thank You.

Bob McDill,Man the Songs this man has written are just absolute Treasures for the ears of the world,Totally Timeless Songs,Don’t Close Your Eyes,Come On!When that song first came out,I would literally sing the dang thing in my Sleep.It was an involuntary impulse,It just happened.In the Shower,The Car,The Office,Even when your trying to write an original song of your own,You’d play a Chord thats in Don’t Close Your Eyes,Next thing ya know,there go your Playing Don’t Close Your Eyes,Again! Love Your Music Mr. Bob McDill,Thank You for laying the Groundwork for us peeons!!

Good, intelligent, honest stuff. I especially appreciated the words Brett used to describe his “one complaint.”

I would have said something to the effect of, “Now, a lot of the time, the greediest Publisher/Producer/Label A&R Department “wins.”

Brett, at least to me, made a similar point, but much more tastefully and thoughtfully than I would have.
