MusicRow‘s seventh annual Rising Women on the Row breakfast took place March 27 at the Omni Nashville Hotel, drawing record attendance. The throng was there to applaud this year’s slate of honorees, Faithe Dillman, Leslie DiPiero, Becky Gardenhire, Lynn Oliver-Cline, Annie Ortmeier and Janet Weir.

“Honor the women who came before you; respect the women you work with now; mentor the women coming up behind you,”

“In honor of Women’s History Month, I want to thank every woman who came before me,” said music publisher DiPiero, GM of FGL’s Tree Vibez Music. “This community and its songwriters literally saved my life.” She moved to Music City 23 years ago following the cancer death of her mentor mother.

Also in the music publishing industry was honoree Oliver-Cline. All honorees were profiled on MusicRow.com. Click to read DiPiero or Oliver-Cline‘s.

Rob Hatch Inks Publishing Deal With Kobalt

Rob Hatch

Kobalt, a music and technology company built for artists, songwriters, publishers and labels as an alternative to the traditional music business model, has signed Nashville-based country songwriter Rob Hatch. The worldwide agreement includes publishing administration for all of Hatch’s future works as well as his back catalog.

Throughout his career, Hatch has collaborated with and/or scored co-writes on works by the likes of Luke Bryan, Faith Hill, Gretchen Wilson, Rhett Atkins, George Jones, posthumous songs by the late Johnny Cash, and more. Following his first No. 1 song on Billboard’s US Hot Country Songs chart, Justin Moore’s “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” in 2011, Hatch once again reached No. 1 with Lee Brice’s “I Don’t Dance” in 2014. Hatch was also named SESAC Songwriter of the Year in 2014.
