Spirit Music Group / Fluid Music Revolution Signs Ryan Creamer

Spirit Fluid, the Nashville-based joint venture between Spirit Music Group and Frank Rogers’ Fluid Music Revolution, has announced its first signing, inking a publishing agreement with songwriter and producer Ryan Creamer.

Creamer’s credits include serving as an engineer on Firekid’s 2015 self-titled debut album. The Ohio native joined the Air National Guard and served two years of active duty during Operation Enduring Freedom. During that deployment, he began writing songs.

Spirit Fluid was formed as part of Spirit Music Group’s continuing focus on and investment in country music publishing. In addition to establishing Spirit Fluid, Spirit Music Group’s deal with Rogers also included the acquisition of Rogers’ one-third interest in certain copyrights of Nashville indie publisher Sea Gayle Music, which Rogers co-founded with Chris DuBois and Brad Paisley in 1999.

 

BMI Elevates Jessica Frost To Executive Director, Announces #MusicMonday

BMI has promoted Jessica Frost to Executive Director of Industry Relations.

In her newly-expanded role, Frost will continue her work to develop and cultivate relationships with industry associations and businesses across the country that use BMI music. Frost is based in Nashville and reports directly to Dan Spears, Vice President of Licensing, Industry Relations.

The playlist, which includes music from the worlds of pop, hip-hop, country, rock, Latin, R&B and more, will be updated each Monday with a fresh batch of tunes.

Kendall Lettow Joins MV2 Entertainment

MV2 Entertainment has announced the hiring of Kendall Lettow as Creative Director. In the new role, she will pursue publishing, artist development, and TV/film placements for the company.

Lettow studied music business at MTSU and interned at Big Loud Shirt publishing company in 2011. She landed her first job at Kobalt Music as a creative assistant that same year, followed by career stops at Still Working Music and ThiS Music.

Songwriters on the MV2 roster are Jay Allen, Bart Allmand, Robert Arthur, David Fanning, Terry McBride, Mark and Cherie Oakley and Nora Collins.

 

NSAI Takes Copyright Reform Concerns to Congress

Leaders of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), including Bart Herbison, Ashley Gorley, and Lee Thomas Miller, were in Washington, D.C. this month for meetings with more than a dozen members of Congress to discuss copyright reform.
